I’ve worn many hats in my career, but when my family and I moved to Oregon and I had to start fresh—again—I wanted something that would challenge me.
I've had a wide range of professions throughout my life, each one shaping me in different ways and leading me to where I am today. I came from Mexico at the age of 6, and by 17, I was already working in retail. My first jobs were at Jack in the Box and a jewelry store, and eventually, I landed at Nordstrom. I quickly realized that I loved talking to people, educating them on what we had in store, and helping them find solutions. My ability to connect with customers and my work ethic didn’t go unnoticed—I was promoted to manager in no time, suddenly responsible for a team of six girls.
After Nordstrom, I moved on to Men’s Wearhouse, where I worked for five years in a management role. I was disciplined, knew my products inside and out, and people naturally opened up to me. That connection and attentiveness translated into strong sales. Eventually, I transitioned to Macy’s, managing the cosmetics section.
I met Patrick around that time. By then, I had a clear sense of who was right for me, and Patrick was certainly the right fit. We got married, and when Patrick got a job in Boise, I left my beloved San Diego—along with my friends and family—to start over in a place where I knew no one.
By then, I was tired of retail. I wanted something new where I could help people, especially in a way that impacted their health. That’s when I decided to take massage therapy classes and get certified. I worked at a clinic for a while but soon realized I could earn more by starting my own practice. With a little advertising and a lot of word-of-mouth referrals, my business grew. Turns out, I had a gift for it—I could feel people’s pain and energy with my hands. I could read what they needed and heal through touch.
I loved that work and the impact it had on people’s lives, but after ten years, my hands couldn’t take it anymore. My fingers were done, and it was time to move on. Right around then, Patrick got a job in Oregon, so once again, we packed up and moved.
Looking for another change, I got my private investigator license. For two years, I was hired to follow people and uncover the truth—divorced partners trying to prove why their ex wasn’t paying child support or insurance cases where clients were suspected of faking disabilities. It was an intense job, and I saw all kinds of things, but most of the work was at night, which meant I hardly spent time with my daughter, Kylee. And delivering bad news over and over again? That got exhausting.
I wanted to help families navigate challenges in a way that led to solutions, not just bad news. I also wanted to be my own boss, so in 2017, I was inspired to get my real estate license. Now, I love educating my clients, helping them find solutions, and making a meaningful impact in their lives.
In my free time, I love dancing, hitting the gym, and exploring new restaurants with Kylee—she motivates me to lead by example, teaching her to be a go-getter. My son, Anthony, is now in the Army, and Patrick and I are still going strong. My journey has taken me through so many different paths, but every step has led me here, doing something I truly love.
